My Story

On the 4th October 2011, I began writing to my husband when he first suffered his TBI. I wrote everyday with the belief at the time, that when he woke from the coma, he would be able to fill in the blanks from my letters.

I poured out my heart to him, as I could not cope with out him being next to me anymore.

As time went on, and the lack of positivity and hope I was offered from the professionals, doubt crept in as to whether he would really wake up one day, and if he did, would he be as they had prognosed- in a vegetative state? As the doubts took over, I continued to write my way through all of it, in the absence of Alex being there, it was a very cathartic way for me to express the feelings which engulfed me.

If you are going through a similar situation, my story I have documented here:

I am sure you will be able to relate to many things I talk about, and I hope it may help in some way to be able to identify with someone else going through a similar event.
